Layover in Taipei, Taiwan, what options do I have?
Posted by admin in taiwan airlines on 09 6th, 2009Both going and returning from the Philippines, I have overnight layovers at Taipei, going from Untied Airlines to Philippine Airlines.
Is there an inexpensive Hotel near the Airport? Is it possible to spend the night in the airport?
On the return flight, my Filipina Fiancee will be with me, she is traveling with a Philippine Passport and a K1 Fiancee Visa to the USA. Does that complicate the issue?
It depends what you’re looking for. If just a place to stay for 12 hours or so, there are hotels adjacent to CKS airport. The airport is located in Taoyuan, so just search for Taoyuan, Taiwan on your favorite travel website to find hotels.
If you have a bit more time, and are interested in a little nighttime sightseeing, a good place to stay would be in downtown Taipei, near the Taipei Railway Station. This is a nice, active nighttime area, with shopping, eating, and hotels (international chains and local walk-in type hotels), all within easy walking distance of CKS Memorial Park.
US citizens do not require a visa for a stay of up to 30 days, Philippine citizens require a visa. I don’t know Taiwan’s rules regarding transit passengers from the Phillipines, best contact the Taiwan consulate in Manila to be sure.
hi, is taiwan a fun place for holiday?
Posted by admin in taiwan holidays on 09 6th, 2009
Definitely. Lots of outdoor activities, shopping, nightlife… plus add great weather to that (always check the forecast tho!). Enjoy!
You just have to do a little research before you go as where to go to have fun.
can anyone sponsor and give me a chance to travel and study at japan, korea or taiwan?
Posted by admin in taiwan travel on 09 6th, 2009ive always wanted to travel and study in these countries but i just cant afford the expenses needed.so im hoping if someone can help me,because i wanted to help my parents and make them happy before they pass.
You are asking people to provide you with money. I will not be judgemental about asking total strangers to pay for you.
If you really want to travel and study in Asia, you can make it happen. The advice from the previous answerer about going to school is good–but you need to be a native speaker of English in order to teach.
I have parents, and a child too, so I can say that you are not here to please your parents. You must build your own life, respecting them and taking their desires into account. My daughter does not do everything I want her to do, and in fact it pleases me that she does not.
My daughter is not my servant, or my subject, and I am not her emperor. We raised her to be an independent, autonomous adult, and that is what she is.
You will waste your life if you spend it trying to please your parents.
They will be pleased, however, if you WORK towards YOUR goal of studying in Asia. If it is your goal and not theirs.
Please don’t tell me I have no understanding of Asian culture. I have been living in Taiwan for going on my fourth year. I have a lot to learn.
By the way, I was almost 50 before I could make my first trip to Asia–and it was a long-term dream for me to live here.
Unless, of course, you are just looking for money for a free trip. I prefer to think well of people, and I don’t even know you, so I won’t go there.
